She spoke to what the Raven Story means to the indigenous peoples of the Northwest Coast, and called the stamp a lasting tribute the Postal Service was proud to be able to make.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJoining her were Marlene Johnson, chair of the Sealaska Heritage Institute Board of Trustees; Beth Weldon, mayor of Juneau; playwright, actor and educator Frank Henry Kaash Katasse; Lance (X̱'unei) A Twitchell, associate professor of Alaska Native Languages at the University of Alaska Southeast; and Rico Worl.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eThe artist on the work\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWorl described Raven stories as a core part of Tlingit epistemology, and said he was glad to share his own representation of one in a form that mixes modern and traditional approaches.
