The name comes from the petal-like look of the radiating points.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eThe 1794 drawing\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 32-point rose on this stamp was drawn in 1794 by Lucia Wadsworth, then ten years old, in her school geography notebook. She colored the points in bright blue, red, yellow and green over a beige ground. The notebook is held in the Collections of the Maine Historical Society. Wadsworth was the aunt of the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eFormat and use\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTen round stamps per pane, in two rows of five. Around each stamp's edge the text repeats twice: \"Global\" in red, with \"USA,\" \"Forever\" and \"2025\" in green.
