The portrait

An oil painting based on Aaron Shikler's 1987 official White House portrait, showing her in the red James Galanos gown that became her signature. The first-day ceremony was held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley.

Her tenure

Born Anne Frances Robbins, she took an active role as First Lady. The White House renovations were hers, as was the "Just Say No" campaign against drug use among young people — the initiative most Americans still associate with her name.
