Winter Whimsy 2024 Forever Stamps — Holiday Snowflake Booklet, First-Class Postage

Issued from Park City, UT as fall gives way to winter, the Winter Whimsy stamps take the symmetry of a snowflake as their whole subject.

The four designs

Each stamp in the block of four sets a different lacy white form against one rich solid color — navy, teal, tan, or dark blue-green. Bailey Sullivan designed and illustrated them; Greg Breeding was art director.

Paper snowflakes, not just real ones

The forms nod at the craft as much as the weather: fold paper, cut with scissors, unfold, and see what you made. Homemade paper snowflakes usually come out four- or eight-sided rather than six, for the simple reason that small hands fold into quarters and eighths far more easily than into sixths. Children make them at every level of intricacy, which is much of the appeal.
