The photography

Art director Greg Breeding commissioned award-winning photographer Denise Ippolito for the series. Her frames run through pink, white, yellow, magenta and red.

The lifelike quality comes down to how she handled daylight. Ippolito used reflectors in the field to push light onto the flowers, and when the sun was too harsh she shaded a bloom completely, then directed diffused light back onto it.
