The design
Cindy Dyer photographed an orange African daisy against white, framed closely enough to show the structure at the center of the bloom. The first-day postmark came from Kansas City, Missouri, where USPS Stamp Fulfillment Services is based.

About the flower
African daisies belong to the genus Osteospermum, with roughly 70 species native to southern and eastern Africa and the Arabian peninsula. The blooms are large and come in a wide color range, which is why gardeners like them. They are sensitive to cold, so in most climates they have to be replanted each year — worth asking your local nursery about if you want that kind of color in a bed.
