Plants are full of geometric structure, and the relationship works the other way too — you can construct a convincing flower from nothing but circles. The Floral Geometry designs are built on that idea, growing more elaborate as the denomination rises.

The Flower of Life

Nineteen overlapping circles of identical size produce small flower shapes wherever their edges cross, which is how the figure got its name. Cut it down to seven circles and it becomes the Seed of Life. Sacred Geometry treats the pattern as a statement about life, about how the universe took form, and about everything living being connected.

A very old symbol

It has been turning up for thousands of years — in the ancient Osireion in Egypt, in a mosaic floor at Pompeii, and under the paw of a lion at the gate of the Forbidden City in Beijing. Some historians read it as a partial influence on Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man. In Christian tradition the Seed of Life has been linked to the Holy Trinity.
