What a two-ounce stamp is
A non-denominated stamp, like a Forever stamp, but valid for the current two-ounce first-class rate rather than the one-ounce rate. It carries the words TWO OUNCE on the face so it cannot be confused with a standard issue.
Like Forever stamps, it keeps pace with rate changes: a two-ounce stamp bought now covers a two-ounce letter after the next increase, with no top-up.
Why it beats two Forever stamps
The instinctive fix for a heavy letter is a second Forever stamp. At the $0.60 letter rate that is $1.20 — against $0.84 for a single two-ounce stamp.
Across 200 invitations that difference is real money, and the cheaper option also looks better — one stamp in the corner instead of two crowding it.
The one case for using Forever stamps instead: you already have a stack of them and would otherwise be buying new postage. Using stock you own beats buying the theoretically cheaper option.

Take a fully assembled suite — every insert, the ribbon, the seal — to a counter and have it weighed and measured. It costs nothing and it is the only way to be certain.
The failure mode is not subtle. Underpaid invitations come back in a batch, and you have lost the postage, the time, and part of your reply window.

The USPS issues two-ounce stamps with wedding imagery deliberately, because that is overwhelmingly what they are used for.
The 2022 Sunflower Bouquet is a still life — orange and yellow sunflowers with irises, dahlias and echinacea, in red, purple, white and pink against a white ground — sold in books of 20.
The Garden Corsage two-ounce Forever stamp, released 2 April 2020, shows a corsage of peach roses and pink ranunculus with dark pink heather and eucalyptus seeds, wrapped in cream lace ribbon.
